My Story: Strength Changed My Life

Yep, that’s me.

All the way back in 2018.

Here are some of the things you don’t see in this photo. Besides highly disliking my hair at this time. The person in this photo had abandoned herself. She put EVERYONE and EVERYTHING else first. If you asked her if she was doing so, I don’t know if she would have answered honestly, probably not intentionally. But because she was too busy doing everything to keep a family running.

There are things I am still learning about this person. What I do know is at my core I have always been the same person.

This person ate a lot of monster cookies. She drank a lot of Cherry Pepsi and Redbull. She cooked for her family but she didn’t like it. She dreaded cooking until she found a better way.

She didn’t have a lot of boundaries. She gave up on her hobbies. She gave up believing in herself.

Even at one point when you see those movies and you think about if you were in the same situation, would you survive. I believe I said I’d just choose to die immediately so I didn’t even need to try.

I even remember saying and thinking, maybe I should aim for 500 pounds as a goal vs losing weight.

Playing with my kids was exhausting. I brought them places, but I didn’t interact with them much there.

See here though, I took up so much space that I actually became invisible to most people. And invisible is exactly how I felt.

Back in 2018, we didn’t have GLPs yet that I am aware of anyways. I decided I need to doing something so I chose to have Gastric Bypass (and in Mexico – I wrote blog posts about all of this). 

I didn’t tell many people at all. I didn’t want to be judged for my decision. I didn’t want to hear the bullshit about taking the easy way. Our lives are hard enought as it is without having to hear other people’s opinions in something they were not living. So if you’re wondering or worrying if I’m going to judge you. I’m not. I’m going to listen to you. Shit, I’ll probably even cry with you sometimes.

My philosphy is all about finding ways to work with your life and make slow (or faster if you need/want/can) changes. We create new systems, new processes leading to new patterns and habits.

A lot of this is going to be working on mindset, thought work. It’s a beast buried within us we need to talk back to. But we’re going to do it in a new way.

My F Bombs: Fitness, Freedom, Financial Security/Independence

Fitness – getting stronger so you can show up for all the areas in life you’re missing out on.

Freedom – having the body you desire so you have the energy to do all of the things.

Financial Security/Independence – this is one a lot of people get confused about. But think about it, what is holding you back besides your body from living the life of your dreams?

The blunt answer: YOUR MONEY, YOUR FINANCES. It was for me.

Also, F-bombs for me does mean FUCK as well.

Identity & Integrity

Identifying as the person I wanted to become. This one took me longer to realize because it felt like Imposter Symdrome. 

Integrity is at my core and always has been. Do what is right, not what is easy!

Reasonable Expectations & Habits

Making sure to give the gift of compassion to one’s self. Setting reasonable expectations and creating manageable habits. Be kind to yourself with a slight comfortzone push and grow into keep pushing towards growth vs stay comfortable.

Emotional Awareness & Intelligence

Getting in touch with the feelings and thoughts causing bad behaviors to persist. After we recognize what the bad brain is telling us, we can start to step into better thoughts. Using compassionaite communcation towards YOU and with others changes the world. 

More about Financial Security & Independence

A lot people may be confused by the financial part, it’s not the part I talk about much because a lot of people find money discussions out of bounds. But being financially strong is a huge aspect of overall well being. Being fit lead me to be able to continue working towards my goal to be debt free.

Financial Freedom was actually a huge driving force to get strong & fit.

Think about it, what’s holding you back from hiring me even? I bet it’s the cost, can you afford to invest in yourself?
